If you get lots of faxes the old fashioned fax machine with dedicated phone line may still be your best bet. Considering using the CallWave phone number as an emergency, got to get the fax while on the road as an option. You have access to email and your customer has access to the fax machine. Maybe just use the CallWave service on a limited basis for special occasions.

Things to Consider!

Consider this document was recently changed because my original free fax to email routing company EFax has eliminated there free service to me and wants me to upgrade to their pay service of $9.95 per month Efax Plus, or CallWave Professional $3.95 per month unlimited faxes. In my case having used EFax service for several years and only passing out the fax number for the customer or prospect that has an emergency got to fax it to me now, and can't get the document to me using another method (email). Here is a temporary fax number you can use for this one time fax. Don't bother permanently inserting the fax number into my Act contact record for future blast faxing. Go ahead and fax me for this occasion. Well, this approach to emergency faxing has worked for me. However, if CallWave  like eFax in my case can't afford to continue to provide free fax service, or decides to cut you off and force you to upgrade to a pay account reprinting your business cards with a new fax number might be very expensive and Murphy's law will be invoked immediately.

Consider length of the document and the number of graphics in your average fax. Your ISP(Internet Service Provider) may limit the size of email messages received. Check with your ISP for limitations.

Consider your fax number will be a long distance call for the free service, and everyone sending you a fax will pay a long distance charge. Probably not a major financial burden.

#3 Has this ever happened to you? Consider this, you don't have a fax machine, you have fax modem. The faxer says fine I will run right down to the fax machine and send it in a minute or less. To make a long story short, the excuse was there was a line at the fax machine, they got side tracked with another urgent task, or their secretary runs the fax machine and scheduled the fax for midnight delivery. Well you know the rest the story your computer was off and the phone rang and rang then it stopped ringing and their fax machine redialed and ...so on and so forth. Or they decided to include you with all others to receive there marketing faxes and then share your number with other fax marketers.
